Support the smooth running of Dorlog, TNI-Polri and residents to repair landslides in South Lamaknen

The joint activities between the TNI-Polri and residents repaired the damage to the red belt road at several points that had collapsed after last week’s disaster that hit the Belu border region with Timor Leste.

The disaster resulted in the red belt road collapsing and breaking up. Motorcycles and four-wheeled vehicles cannot pass, so the distribution of logistical assistance to residents in Haulata Hamlet, Lutharato Village cannot be carried out.

Apparently, TNI-Polri soldiers and local residents made a wooden fence that was driven into the ground on the shoulder of the road that collapsed. Some of them hauled stones, remaining asphalt slabs and piled up on the road so vehicles could pass.

Information gathered from the field stated that apart from repairing landslides, TNI soldiers together with donor partners distributed assistance in the form of basic food packages to residents affected by the disaster in the villages of Lutharato, Debululik and Lakmaras.

Meanwhile, Batuut Koramil 1605-03/Weluli, Serka Kristianus Nesi conveyed, after taking the apple the Babinsa together with members of the Yonif RK 744/Syb Task Force carried out the Pam for the Weluli-Lakmaras red belt access route.

The activity was carried out in the context of distributing groceries to residents who were victims of the landslide natural disaster in Lutharato-Debululik-Dan Lakmaras Village, South Lamaknen District.

He continued, Sergeant Yosea Dael Babinsa of Ekin Village carried out active monitoring of the assisted areas and Social Sciences with Ebenhaezer Soi in Wekakeu Hamlet, Ekin Village in order to monitor the landslide situation on the volleyball court and behind the Satap Wekakeu Middle School Laboratory room.

“During the monitoring, Babinsa gave a warning to always be alert for subsequent landslides caused by heavy rainfall,” said Nesi.
