Gentra News Bali – Denpasar – A massive fire has been occurring at the Suwung Final Disposal Site (TPA) in denpasar, Bali, since Thursday (12/10/2023). The fire hit the Suwung TPA and caused smoke to climb high to the Ngurah Rai Bypass Road and the Denpasar Breach. The TNI-Polri Joint Team and Denpasar City Firefighters until Sunday (15/10/2023) are still in charge of extinguishing the fire that occurred at Suwung Kangin TPA.
Pangdam IX/Udayana Mayjen TNI Harfendi, S.I.P., M.Sc. accompanied by Danrem 163/WSA, Asops Kasdam IX/ Udayana, Aster Kasdam IX/Udayana, Danlanal Denpasar, Danlanud I Gusti Ngurah Rai, Dandim 1611/Badung, Kapolresta Denpasar, Wali Kota Denpasar, Kalaksa BPBD Prov. Bali and Head of the UPT for Garbage Treatment TPA Suwung directly reviewed the location of the fire, Monday (16/10/2023).
The Chief Executive of BPBD Prov. Bali I Made Rentin informed Pangdam that the depth of the fire had reached 7 to 8 meters from the surface of the garbage pile and his team continued to try to carry out the fire extinguishment using large devices and irrigation of firefighters in his possession.
According to the Wali Kota of Denpasar I Gusti Ngurah Jaya Negara that his side has been assisted by a large tool by the Ministry to scratch the garbage until downstairs they are watered with damkar water. The measurements we’re doing make the spaces so that the fire doesn’t spread anywhere. “We’ve also used flame freese to extinguish the fire, later we’ll use the foam only with a depth of up to 1.5 meters.”
Hearing the explanation, Pangdam IX/Udayana informed that the fire has been going on for a long time and has been engaged in various efforts such as the deployment of the tank car firefighters, helicopters even today to use injections but the fire still has not been extinguished.
Further, Pangdam informed that we have collaborated with the BPBD, the local government, TNI and Polri to deal with this issue. The question of garbage is a very tragic issue for all of us that can not be solved with just one part, “TNI is ready to help according to what the local government and BPBD requests including whatever energy is needed will be prepared”, Pangdam insisted.
Pangdam also expressed gratitude for the hard work of the team involved in the management of this fire disaster that has devoted all efforts and abilities to extinguish the fire, Pangdam hopes the problem of the fire TPA Suwug soon can be solved well.
